Part 4?
It has obviously taken some time for me to get around to finishing this project if I can't even remember the last thing I did to girl's room to decorate (or at least TRY my hand at decorating).
Laundry bags and dragonfly hanger. (Man, I wish I were a good photographer.)

I sewed these laundry bags (one for lights and one for darks) quite some time ago but they were left hanging on the closet door handles for a long time. We had this wood board....so we decided to by dragonflies and spray paint to create this hanger (which we had all items for a long time but kept putting off putting it together until now).
Here's where they are in the room.

And of course....as we're going to Target to buy nails to FINALLY finish up this project and get it hung on the wall....I see pretty much the exact same board with dragonfly hangers for sale
. Go figure huh?
And since we got nails, we were able to hang some pictures on the wall as well. (Yes, I realize that we're moving to Colorado soon and we're putting extra holes in walls anyway.)
Tyson's already told me that he's not a fan of the pink wall. Says its too bright. I actually kind of like it (I think it looks better in real life than in pictures) but I'm not disappointed that we'll never have a bright pink wall in our house again.

Then there's this project....

Oh dear. How can I best put it....
Eden and I spend an entire day dedicated to "potty training" and I feel like we've made NO progress. Its true. NONE.
I've already tried the "Potty Training in Less Than a Day" and both of us were tired and frustrated after about 2 hours.
So, this time I thought, we'll just put her in underwear, keep her in the kitchen all day long, have to spend lots of time sitting on the potty while we read books, don't get frustrated with her if she has an accident, and reward her with a treat if she goes in the potty.
Now she just thinks that "potty training" means "sitting on this little pink chair half naked reading books".....which she LOVED.
We read:
- Chester's Way by Kevin Henkes (twice)
- Nursery Songs by H. A. Rey
- Music Play by H. A. Rey
- The Little Engine that Could by Watty Piper (twice)
- My First Book of Mormon retold by Deanna Buck (the WHOLE book)
- All You Ever Need by Max Lucado
- You are Special by Max Lucado
- Arthur Babysits by Marc Brown (twice)
- Arthur's Tooth by Marc Brown
- Arthur's Computer Disaster by Marc Brown (twice)
- Arthur's First Sleepover by Marc Brown (twice)
- Arthur's Eyes by Marc Brown
- Arthur Meets the President by Marc Brown
Not to mention looking at a few "I Spy" type books and her nap time and bed time stories.
And these aren't super short books. Eden LOVED it to say the least.
But after spending all that time sitting on the toilet and reading....she still managed to only go potty in it .5 times. Yeah, she doesn't seem to understand the concept. I think (I wasn't watching at the time) what happened was that she was wanting to read a book, so she went to the potty, pulled down the underwear, and sat down. Then she realized she was going...and quickly shot up and started to come towards me.
I tried to help her understand that going in the toilet was a GOOD thing, so I showed her what she did right, gave her a treat, went to dad to tell him and give him a hug....
But she apparently didn't finish going....
Two minutes later she had a LARGE accident on the floor. Then said, "Uh-oh. Am I in trouble now?" I said no, it was just an accident but she needed to try and go on the potty.
I put on a diaper at night.
This morning she woke up and said, "It's Potty Training Day again!! Let's read a book!"
I'm not sure what to do....
Although, when I put her diaper back on for nap time she kept tugging at it because she now finds her diaper more uncomfortable than her underwear. I guess maybe that's incentive?
I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is....
There's something in her little brain that just needs to "CLICK". Then she'll understand and never have a problem again. She just hasn't quite figured out WHAT she's supposed to be doing. And I can't figure out how to explain it to her. Hopefully it clicks sooner rather than later....
