Everyday Conversation with Myself
(Yes, I talk to myself)
Me: "Today I'll blog."
In Response: "But you haven't taken any pictures"
Me Again: "Self, you are kind of boring...
and people are really only interested
in pictures of your children."
In Response: "True."
And then I end up with a neglected blog.
Today I'm blogging.
First, here are some of the very few pictures I've taken recently of my children...just to please those bloggers only interested in pictures of my children.
A kimono inspired dress made by my grandma for Eden. Adorable.
Leila, loving her jumper. She's decided she's too grown up to be in the swing and prefers her jumper.
And lately she'll even fall asleep in it (for 10 minutes or so). Looks like I may have a thumb sucker on my hands.
For the rest of you who want to know what's going on in my life...here's an update:
The Good:
We moved Eden and Leila into the same room. So far, so good. Now Tyson and I have a room that is a "no children zone" room with sewing stuff, school stuff, and our treadmill.
Tyson and I were able to try Iranian food for the first time. We were invited over to a dinner party with a friend from school that's Iranian. His mom cooked a DELICIOUS meal and we had lots of conversation about Iranian culture and news. It was an awesome night.
I got a new laptop, a mini laptop. Mine was producing more and more problems. So, when "tax free weekend" came around in Missouri....we bought it. A part of me still feels guilty cause we really don't have money to spend. But let me tell you, its been HEAVEN to not have the old laptop looming over my head.
My kitchen is clean. No wonder I'm feeling so happy. My messiness of my kitchen is a direct reflection of what my mood is at any current time.
Tyson and I have been doing yoga. Its been much more fun than running on the treadmill.
We went to a friend's house yesterday for a birthday party. Delicious cake and smoothies and lots of good entertainment and fun. Its always nice to get out of the house once in a while.
Tyson and I were able to go on a date night. We got together with another couple in the ward with 2 kids of similar ages as ours and we're starting to take turns babysitting for date nights. We went to a museum and to a DELICIOUS little Italian place we randomly found.
The Bad:
I'm slowly starting get ready for potty training. I'm nervous.
My laptop needs to be taken back and replaced with a new one. One of the keys doesn't like to work.
I go through phases in my life where I really want to re-decorate my home. I've loved looking online at paint swatches, pillow covers, pictures, crafts, etc. I look. I love. I have no money. So, while I'm having fun, I can't really do much about it (although, I do think I'm going to break down an paint the girl's room).
The Ugly:
Our car broke...again. Oil leak...again. After I left for Utah and Tyson was still around our car had an oil leak. We had to make adjustments (seeing how its our only car) and get the car fixed. Recently the car decided it wasn't ready to be completely fixed and its leaking oil again. Thanks to WONDERFUL friends (both times) we have been able to have a car available to us.
Eden threw up in her car seat (just before the car broke). It was EVERYWHERE. We had to take apart the entire thing, hand wash the parts, and throw washable parts in the washer. Of course there was some kind of paper on the car seat that wasn't washable and got ALL OVER the washer. I had to find a time to take out the washed stuff and pick off all the shredded paper from the car seat cover and inside the washer. And the main part of the plastic part of the car seat was too big to wash in my sink so I had to take it outside. It was raining but I had to do it because we had to be somewhere that night. Leila wouldn't let me put her down without screaming...so I strapped her to me the whole time. My neighbor just laughed when she saw me and asked "You do know its raining, right?"
Tyson's been stressed. One word, "school". He's learning about neurology right now and while he finds it interesting...he's a busy bee. And there are some days where even when he's home, he's not home.
My shoulder has been in a good amount of pain. Leila is the cause of this pain. I love my child...but I'd love her more if she'd sleep longer than 5 minutes during the day WITHOUT me having to carry her. (In fact, as I type she's strapped on me).
I thought that maybe with a new laptop I could maybe upload videos on to my blog. Wrong. Still won't work. I don't get it.
The End
(Hmm....I should work on a better ending to my blogs...)
