Long Lost Blog

Apparently at some point of time I created a blog at tysonandbethany.blogspot.com. Yeah...I must have created it BEFORE creating this one...forgot about it, then created a new one. I stumbled upon this one and decided, "Why let a good blog go to waste? I mean, I'm a blog-a-holic anyway...right?"

So, this new blog is now becoming my picture blog. I wrote something the other day...just for fun...but from here on out, it will be dedicated to all of you who dislike hearing about my life and scroll past all that just to see the pictures anyway. :)

Eden's Animal Noises

Eden makes several animal noises. I had been meaning to take a video of her doing these noises, and I finally did it. But before the "show" I needed to write an explaination for her stylin' hairstyle.

This is how her hair started at the beginning of the day, adorable pig tails. It was actually quite surprising that she kept them in as long as she did. Doing her hair is a daily battle. Cute, huh?

Approximately a 1/2 hour later...

Well, now you all know why you never see my little girl with things in her hair...they don't last long in her hair. But even when they do last a half hour or an hour then she'll pull them out and the rest of the day her hair will look like this...*sigh*

Alright, here's the video of Eden's animal noises...(P.S. Tyson and I really did try to teach Eden to say, "Meow"...but apparently she had her own views on cats.)

Edenisms

So, this is to say that Eden makes me laugh, everyday. Sometimes I get frustrated because she's DEFINITELY starting to get some sass...but overall, she's just lots of fun. So...this is a reminder to look at the side of my blog at Eden's Edenisms. Today was a funny day full of lots of new things that Eden does that makes her who she is.

Below are some videos of her just being cute.

First Video: Eden learned how to use headphones. Her favorite music is jazz.

Second Video: Eden is terrified of flies. I tried to catch her seeing a fly on camera. She was playing in the drawer until she saw a fly. Then she stopped dead in her tracks. After a while if the fly doesn't go away then she'll start to panic and run away.

Third Video: Eden...just being Eden when she's silly and loopy. We tried to get her to do a trick with her tongue...and she ended up doing this instead.

Where Did My Little Baby Go?

Eden is growing up so fast...

It is so much fun to see Eden grow up. I can't believe that she is starting to learn how to walk! Where did my little baby go?

A little about Eden nowadays...
  • Talks and babbles a lot more. She says animal sounds, tries to repeat what people say (sometimes), ususally just says the beginning sound of words, and likes to make all sorts of sounds with her mouth.
  • Eden doesn't like flies. She'll see it, follow it with her eyes, point to it, say "bug"...and if it gets too close to her she'll tense up her body and start to panic.
  • She loves looking at this blog, she'll point to pictures and videos and say who is in them or what is going on.
  • TECHNICALLY she is still not completely over her wheat and dairy allergies BUT we aren't so good at following the rules and she'll just have red cheeks to show for it. But it is better than it was before.
  • Eden has DEFINITELY started getting sass. She's definitely a girl and has learned that the world is her oyster. Living with grandparents and being the only child doesn't seem to be helping her understand that she can get most anything she wants.
  • She still loves music and dance. I tried to get a video of her dancing lately...it's changed since that last video ages ago. She will often vigerously sway her arms if she is sitting or if she's standing she'll usually wiggle her bum.
  • She is definitely a girly girl. She loves to play with dolls and doll houses, if she sees flowers she has to stop at every one and smell them, she loves to pretend to cook, and if you tell her to say goodbye then she'll blow kisses.
  • Eden absolutely HATES things in her hair. I try and try and try and try to put things in and she'll yank them out and hand the hair things right back to me every time. I keep thinking that if I just keep doing it or just keep trying that she'll eventually get used to it...I think it's getting worse...
  • She loves going outside. She'll always point outside and say "outside" (kind of mumbling where I know what she is saying but probably no one else would). She loves taking walks, stroller rides, and wagon rides.

"Now THAT'S Something to Blog About!"

I'm a blog-a-holic. I admit it. So, to have gone this long without posting a new blog is beyond unbelievable! I mean, even when I have NOTHING to say, I still blog. That's dedication. jk.

It isn't that I haven't had anything going on...in fact...Tyson and I went to the Finlinson family reunion in Oak City where I found the house of my dreams, went on a campout, Eden has been growing and changing DAILY, and I've been working on getting my life in order ever since (including exercising for 3 days straight, cooking REAL MEALS, deep cleaning the house, visiting the elderly, and keeping up with Eden).

But after all that action going on...and me saying, "oh, I need to blog about that" the only time that Tyson was excited about me blogging was because of what is going on in this picture...
Tyson's sister Lydia has this old bike that was pretty smashed up, totally unable to ride. It looks like it had been smashed like an accordian. Thus, in order for Tyson and his brother, Hayden, to fix the problem they came up with this solution. Take "come-alongs", also known as "tie downs", put them on trees with the bike in between, tighten the up, and watch the bike stretch out to a usable state! Go Tyson and Hayden! Tyson was so proud of his work that he had me come outside with my camera to get a picture and proudly stated, "Now THAT'S something to blog about!"

Well, after that excitement...here are pictures of the other events that have been going on....

Oak City Family Reunion...this is the line up for the every popular sourdough pancakes....there were a lot of people at this reunion!
This is my amazing husband Tyson and me.
Eden got to play at the park and her favorite part, like always, is playing with the rocks and wood chips.
This is Grandma Leo and Lydia Finlinson's grave....and Eden covering her mouth. It was crazy to think that I now have a whole new family to learn about now that I'm married.
Here's some family. Cousins Mitch and Carly, Hayden, Tyson, Eden, and me....and a stray dog that Mitch decided should be in our pictures.
This is the old Finlinson house in Oak City that I would love to live in. Many people would say, "Are you crazy?" or "Where in the world is Oak City?" or even just "Why?" I just love the old feel, it's in a small town, it is just small and cozy...and simple, and it has a large yard for a large garden. I love it. Tyson loves it too.
These are some pictures of when we were camping in the west desert.

Eden drinking some Jones soda. Man, she loved that stuff.
It's nice having a great husband who is good at doing "boy scout" things like building fires. It was great to cook all of our meals (and s'mores) over a fire.
Poor thing was attacked in the night by a bug of some sort. If you look on her eyelid you can see a red dot. There were at least a dozen of these red dots on her head and face.
It was BEAUTIFUL!!!
Here are a few videos of Eden and how's she's really starting to grow up and do all sorts of new things now a days.

Eden has really gotten into blowing kisses. It's SO cute! When we tell her to say goodnight, she'll blow a kiss. The cutest is when she actually makes a kissing sound (this video doesn't show that, I think she was distracted by other things).

Eden is also getting more personality...like acting a little gangsta'. She actually discovered the fun times with daddy's hat. She LOVES his hat. She even says "hat" now.

Last one...I've also been giving Eden chores. Ok, not REALLY but our vase full of flowers and rocks tipped over one day and I decided to make that Eden's chore while I did several other chores. She was a pro at it...and it also kept her busy so I could do some cleaning up myself...

Summer Time!

The Elder's (family friends of Tyson's) have been nice enough to let us swim in their pool. Not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES this week. Not even just "this week" but three days in a row. We've been loving it!

Tyson's still in school this semester but it hasn't stopped us from acting like it's summer. Our thought is that we'll soon be moving away from our family and friends, so we should use this time to spend with them as much as we can and do things that we won't be able to do when we go to Kansas City.

Eden loves the pool and is always ready to jump in (even with her clothes on). Her favorite game has become "sit on the edge and when mommy says 'go', then jump into her arms". She also loves playing with the balls in the pool. When Lydia and her friends came over to swim, her favorite game became "go around to each person and bonk them on the head".

These are pictures I stole from Barb Elder off of HER blog (all but the last one). Can you see that horrible tan line of mine? Yeah, I'm trying to get rid of that too...I'm such a cheese...
Daddy and Eden. Notice that Eden's feet are up on Tyson. Eden LOVES to put her feet up, especially when she's eating. She'll often have at least one foot up on the table while eating.
This slide is funny. I can't seem to get it right, although others can. So, this picture may have the appearance that I'm MOVING...I don't think I was at that point...
Here's Aunt Lydia and friend, Rylie, playing with Eden.
This was my favorite part of swimming. It would wear Eden out after not too long of swimming and she would love to cuddle with me as I walked around the pool. It's not often she's cuddly, so I take advantage any time I can. :)

Sneaky Sneaky

Tyson and I decided to eat dinner and watch a movie in the basement. We gave Eden some dinner to eat as well. When she was being nice and quiet we just figured she was eating her food like a good little girl. Lo and behold, the sneaky little devil had found a stash of Oreo cookies and was eating quietly on the side of the couch so mommy and daddy wouldn't catch her. Sneaky sneaky!

Also, Eden's been loving her birthday presents. Every day she walks around with her shopping cart, pretends to eat the play food, gives the food to others to eat, feeds and puts baby to bed, and loves sitting in her rocking chair.

Brittany gave her this cute little outfit she is wearing. Its perfect for the summer time and SO cute! Thanks so much for the wonderful gift!
